About Guatemala

Quetzaltenanango (also known as Xela) is the center of Mayan culture located in the western region. It is as safe a city as any in North America. You can walk from one end of the city to the other with wonderful outdoor markets full of fresh fruits and vegetables offered at affordable prices. There are numerous language schools in the city; a modern sports complex with Olympic size swimming pool and running track where both locals and international athletes train.  Xela is 40 minutes from Fuentes Georgina Hot Springs and 3 hours from Lake Atitlan.

From Costa Rica take Tica Bus.  There is a direct bus with one overnight stay in San Salvador when taking the 3 am departure from San Jose. On arrival in Guatamala City, there will be shuttle at the bus station that can take you to Linea Dorada bus line. Take Linea Dorada, an executive bus, to Xela.

For airport arrivals in Guatamala City we can arrange in advance a safe transport from the airport to Linea Dorada bus line. Take Linea Dorada, an executive bus, to Xela.

  1. Sharon, not sure that my last message was posted… I noticed you have not announced your location for Spring training. If Villa Sumaya would interest you, please let me know and I can send a group package. We are located on the late. Thanks, Lizzy
